Happy Halloween in Bass Lake
As we mentioned, any holiday will be a great one to spend in Bass Lake, but for today’s purposes, we are going to keep it focused on the end of the year celebrations, starting with Halloween in Bass Lake. Guests can expect the temperatures to range from cold in the morning and late-night hours to mildly wonderful in the afternoons, so instead of bringing two sets of clothing, just remember to layer. Our Bass Lake retreats provide fireplaces for extra warmth, and with temperatures reaching the low 70s in the afternoons, you may want to open the windows and let all that fresh air inside.
Plan on setting aside one night to watch scary movies on our state of the art televisions and eat Halloween themed snacks you created in our fully equipped kitchens. When it comes time to celebrate with your kids, the Saturday before Halloween (unless Halloween falls on a Saturday) is when the Annual Bass Lake Halloween Carnival is held, offering bounce houses, games, a dunk tank, and a costume contest offering prizes for the winners.
Thankful for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving at home can be stressful and chaotic, but when you take the celebration on the road to Bass Lake, our properties will give you so much to be thankful for! Our kitchens are truly the heart of the home, offering update appliances and space enough for multiple chefs to share the dance of the turkey day feast. Outside, the temperatures will range between 37 degrees and 59 degrees, and in some years, visitors may even be able to experience snow.
Guests can start their day of thankfulness by watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and end it with dreams of Christmas gifts in our tranquil bedrooms, because everyone knows the next holiday on the lineup begins almost as soon as the last piece of pumpkin pie has been devoured.
Your holiday getaway to Bass Lake is meant to be for relaxation, and if the thought of slaving over a hot stove does not appeal, there are usually at least a couple of restaurants open for Thanksgiving, including the Elderberry House, located at 48688 Victoria Lane in Oakhurst. Each year they have offered a sophisticated multiple course dinner that will make the cook of your household feel spoiled and pampered, and no one can have a problem with that!
Bass Lake’s Christmas Tree Lighting & Parade of Lights takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving, starring Santa & Mrs. Claus, and offering the opportunity to take pictures with both, shop at the Holiday Craft Fair, and devour delicious holiday food and drinks.
A Merry Little Christmas
Christmas in Yosemite truly is the most wonderful time of the year, offering a stunning winter landscape blanketed with snow and temperatures that are delightfully chilly without being too frosty. Even as our Bass Lake holiday hideaways aren’t decorated for Christmas, the cabins, lodges, and chalets will feel especially festive and offer a holiday spirit that is infectious. This is definitely a time when you will want to keep a fire burning in all the fireplaces, and if the property you choose is one with a fireplace in the bedroom, you will stay wonderfully warm and cozy every night of your stay.
Colorful throws tossed over plush sofas will give you more ways to stay cozy, and stone countertops in the kitchen practically beg you to roll out the dough for your favorite cookies. Some of our properties offer multiple living room areas, allowing the kiddos to watch their favorite Christmas cartoons in one of the areas while adults watch their favorite holiday movies in the other, perhaps agreeing that it IS a wonderful life. Bass Lake’s Christmas tree will be lit for the holiday and throughout the entire month, and the Pines Village will feature arts and craft fairs and other activities that will appeal to visitors of all ages.
