Sierra Art Trails
Every October, this self-guided open studio tour invites visitors into the homes and workshops of local artists throughout Madera and Mariposa counties. Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and photography created in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada. Free and open to all.

Fishing
Bass Lake lives up to its name. Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, brown trout, and catfish all swim these waters. Fish from shore, rent a boat, or wade in at one of the quieter coves. Spring and fall are prime seasons, but there's something biting year-round. The annual Bass Lake Fishing Derby in May offers roughly $55,000 in cash prizes for tagged fish.
Water Sports
When the lake warms up in late spring, the water sports crowd arrives. Wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, and jet skiing turn the lake into a playground. Boat rentals are available at Miller's Landing, The Forks Resort, and Bass Lake Boat Rentals. Calmer mornings are best for paddleboarding and kayaking before the afternoon wind picks up.
