Built in 1961, Sugar Pine Haus is a true mid century A-frame nestled in the Sierra National forest located just 12 miles to the south gate of Yosemite National Park and just minutes away from Bass Lake.
The property is located in the sweet mountain community of SkyView Ranch off highway 41 surrounded by soaring ponderosa pines, cedar, white oak and stunning red manzanita trees. 

In addition to Yosemite and Bass Lake, there’s also Nelder Grove (7 miles away), Lewis Creek Trail, (which leads to Red Rock & Corlieu Falls), and Angel Falls (a summer fav), and The Snowline Saloon for dining, libations, and live music. Also nearby is Nelder Creek, which is great for some local fishing or a summer dip.

When you first step int the A-Frame, the original vaulted knotty pine interior will take your breath away! Tastefully updated with all the modern amenities needed for a getaway in the woods. This cabin features new appliances, a gorgeous built-in sofa, beautifully colorful and quirky vintage furniture & art, a fully remodeled bathroom (shower only) and comfy beds all while retaining its original charm!  

The drawers underneath the built-in sofa feature an assortment of games and spare blankets for extra coziness. A 55” smart tv features Netflix and Peacock ready for streaming, & Spotify (ready to sync to each guest's personal account). Surround sound features hard wired JBL speakers that are mounted in the vaulted space along with subwoofers on the floor.  The system is old but works great! It’s easy to use but be sure and consult the manual on how to operate correctly because this analog system has never heard the word bluetooth. 

Some quick vintage A-Frame facts; Sugar Pine Haus is lovingly maintained but is not a new home build. The kitchen is small but sweet with all modern appliances (electric stove/oven, fridge, microwave. No dishwasher) and fully equipped with all the pots, pans, utensils & dining ware needed to make a fabulous at home meal and coffee machine to get your mornings started. There is a split unit in the living area that provides heating and cooling along with a beautiful wood burning stove that will heat the entire home all on its own. For those extra chilly nights, there is an additional space heater for your comfort. (Note: guests provide their own firewood). There is also a portable AC unit in the loft. She’s cute and modernized, but still old and quirky. If you are expecting a perfect modern home, Sugar Pine Haus may not be the home for you and that's ok.

The main downstairs bedroom features a queen bed with beautiful headboard, luxury white sheets, duvets, and pillows. The loft has two full size beds and a private patio to enjoy your morning coffee at the start of the day and stargazing before bed. Both the bedroom and loft feature plenty of closet space. 

The outside deck features a dining table with seating for 6 and a quaint vintage style umbrella to provide shade during the summer months. The deck wraps around to the front where you can sit and enjoy libations at the vintage victorian bistro table. On any given day you may catch a guest appearance by the neighborhood’s local flock of wild turkey, herd of deer and native birds. 

Note: for the fireplace, no fire starters or duraflame type logs (natural wood & kindling only)

Welcome Guide- One week prior to arrival, a digital welcome book will be sent via email and text message. It will have your special door code, address, items provided, and much more great info to help you prepare for your trip!

Access to Yosemite and Nearby Attractions- Yosemite National Park, like many others across the United States, has implemented a reservation system in recent years to manage visitor numbers effectively. We highly recommend that visitors planning a trip to Yosemite stay informed by regularly checking the National Parks websites and affiliated sources for any updates regarding the reservation system. While we strive to provide our guests with an exceptional experience, it's important to note that access to Yosemite or nearby attractions cannot be guaranteed, especially during peak seasons. By staying informed and flexible, visitors can better navigate their travel plans and make the most out of their trip to this beautiful region.

Kitchen- The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cookware, cups, silverware, and  more! Our housekeeping team leaves out salt, pepper, and a can of cooking spray. Friends, family, and other guests sometimes leave spices, aluminum foil or ziploc bags at the home. You are most welcome to use any of these items, but if something is particularly crucial to the success of your meals, we do recommend bringing it along with you.

Linens- Our vacation homes are some of the few in the Yosemite area to use professionally laundered linens. All linens are professionally serviced for each and every reservation. The linens are washed in commercial grade washers with stronger hypoallergenic detergent than you would find in a residential washer. All linens are then pressed with an iron at 300° F, vs. a standard home dryer that only reaches 160°.  You are not likely to find this level of service in other vacation homes.

Fireplace- Kindly note that any type of wood burning is typically unavailable in the summer and fall months, due to heightened fire risk in the area. BBQ grills are usable year round. Since the property has an adequate heating system, firewood is not provided. You are most welcome to bring any for your own ambiance if you wish, or you may use any that might be at the property left by friends, family, or other guests.

Hot Tub- There is no lifeguard on duty for the hot tub. Please use at your own risk. We kindly ask that you shower prior to entering the hot tub.

Pet Friendly- This property is NOT pet friendly!

Parking- There is enough parking for 2-3 cars at this property.  We appreciate you not exceeding the maximum parking limit.  Many of the local roads are privately owned and privately maintained. Please be mindful to obey speed laws and drive slowly in residential neighborhoods!

Early or Late Check-ins- Early check ins are often difficult for our team to accommodate. If you would like to check in early, please reach out to us after 2PM on the day of your arrival so we can check with our team. If you need guaranteed early check in, we recommend booking the night before your arrival so that you may check in as early as you wish. For checkout, most vacation homes have a 10AM check out in our area. We provide an 11AM checkout, and unfortunately can rarely offer a later checkout.

Occupancy- Maximum occupancy of 4 guests regardless of age. Infants are included in the total. This is strictly enforced. No having events/weddings/large dinner gatherings/guests over just to visit.

Security Cameras- There are external only cameras on the premises that face certain entrance points of the home.

Chains- California Highway Patrol and the National Park Service may require chains in wintery/snowy/icy conditions. Please ensure you are bringing a vehicle and necessary equipment capable of navigating in these conditions.

No Smoking- The Smoke Remediation Fee will be a minimum of $500 for smoking in the house and could be higher depending on the extent of the damage.

Insurance- Travel Insurance is provided as an option during the checkout process. Please note that as hosts, we cannot protect your trip from flight delays, illnesses, weather, job loss, or other circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. We truly wish we could! We STRONGLY suggest purchasing some type of Travel Insurance so that you may protect your vacation investment from unforeseen circumstances that may prevent you from making your trip. It's a nominal cost that can absolutely pay off!

Mail- Due to locked neighborhood mailboxes, we ask you not mail anything to the property. You are most welcome to mail items to our office (Love Yosemite! Vacation Rentals) in Oakhurst. Please reach out to us to make arrangements.

Calling Us- The phone number on our account does not receive text messages, because it is the number for our office.  Please call that number or send us a message if you need any help or have any questions!

Neighbors- Please do not trespass on the neighboring properties. We appreciate you respecting the local neighborhood!

Internet- Peer-to-peer (for example bit torrent) and downloads of copyrighted and illegal material are strictly forbidden by United States law and our internet provider actively monitor these activities. Guests are fully responsible for any illegal uploading or downloading of content and for other illegal activities. By agreeing to the House Rules, you agree to not perform any illegal activities using the home`s internet connection. Any copyright infringement by guest is subject to release of guest’s information to copyright holder.

Simple Checkout Instructions- 
1. Check out time is 11:00am, not 10am like most vacation homes up here!
2. Please do not do any laundry, it’s all professionally serviced off-site.
3. If you have time to start the dishwasher, that would be helpful but not necessary.
4. Kindly throw your garbage in the large green dumpster, located out by the parking!  It really helps us keep the critters away!
5. Most importantly, please return any furniture you may have moved during your stay.
P.S. Don’t forget to get a last minute photo or two with your family and friends before leaving!
